Trailer reserch

I decided to analyse this trailer as my film will be a comedy. Having said that I will be creating an animated trailer.

Analysis: The Family is a film about a family who are always having to move house because the father was a high profile member of the Mafia but ratted on them and is now in a witness protection scheme. The Mob of still want him and his family dead. The rest of the family are just as bad for example the wife blows up a super market when the employees are rude about her. The son bribes and steals in school and the daughter almost kills a boy because he was trying to chat her up.

Throughout the trailer are punch lines and scenes that make all of the family members seem like the good people.

I want to re-create a similar scene from this film, where my characters use humour and satire to draw the audience in and add more depth to the film. This would be short punch lines as it would fit into the trailer conventions.

The actors may not be well known but the film brings in audiences by being the not only partly action but also making the audiences laugh as who doesn't like a good laugh now and then? This is one of the reasons that comedy movies are so popular. The music along with the inner tiles gives the film that comedy aspect.

The second film is an action film called Run all Night.

Genre: action

USP: a well known actor will attract the audience that enjoy films involving that actor.

> the sound of a boom is used with a fade to black and then a fade to the next scene to create tension and a sense of action.

> The trailer has short shots of one conversation and lots of scenes in-between, splitting up that conversation.

I was inspired by The Family so i took the action aspect of this film and decided to recreate some scenes from it in my film.

The final film is the well known Doctor Strange.

USP: this film is said to be the biggest Sci-Fi release of the year and was a well known comic.

The trailer begins by telling us through Doctor Strange, that the world works differently to the way that we think that it does. This alternative reality is then shown throughout the trailer with impressive imagery and dialogue explaining what the characters can do.

The trailer uses narration from start to finish from the same person explaining the things that can be done and seen in the film.
